What is JOYÀ?

JOYÀ the first Cirque du Soleil resident show in Mexico, combines culinary and performing arts in an intimate theater setting to engage the audience’s five senses. Drawing on Mexico’s history and heritage, JOYÀ tells the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter embarking on a quest to uncover the secrets of life. How long is JOYÀ?

JOYÀ is a 80 minutes show plus a one hour dinner and musical prelude. If you buy an experience including dinner, you will get 2 hours and 20 minutes of entertainment.

Is JOYÀ appropriate for children?

Yes, it is. Like most of Cirque du Soleil’s shows, JOYÀ is meant to entertain the whole family. That said, moments of loud noises and darkness used during the show may frighten some children.

Will there be JOYÀ merchandise available?

Is my transaction cancelled when the countdown reaches zero?

The countdown indicates the time remaining to complete that particular step of the ticket-buying process before the tickets are put back into circulation. When a countdown has 30 seconds remaining, the system will ask whether you need more time.

Is there a VIP Rouge JOYÀ?

Yes, there is a VIP Package option for JOYÀ.

What is the difference between VIP and other tickets?

VIP and Premium tickets are in the same seating sections, however VIP ticket holders enjoy extra privileges, including access to the VIP ROUGE tent.

What is the VIP treatment?

What are the various methods of ticket delivery?

Tickets need to be picked up at the box office 40 minutes before the beginning of your experience.

What is an electronic ticket?

An electronic ticket is a ticket emailed to you (as a PDF document) minutes after your purchase. Print the electronic tickets at home and bring them to the show. If you have more than one ticket, it is important that they are printed separately. Electronic tickets require Adobe Acrobat Reader software on your computer in order to read and print them. It’s free, and can be downloaded on Adobe's Official Website.

What do I do if my computer crashes while purchasing tickets?

If your computer crashes during an online ticket purchase,please contact the customer service team at, call 1 844 247 7837 or contact us. It’s important to include as much information about the purchase as possible when contacting us, particularly your order number.

Are there discounts for travel agents?

There are no discounts offered to travel agents for our shows.

Which credit cards are accepted?

Tickets may be purchased using VISA, Mastercard or American Express.

How do I buy tickets without a credit card?

Tickets may be purchased with cash or debit card at the show’s onsite box office, which opens from Monday to Saturday.

How can I reserve a specific seat?

During the purchasing process, you will not be able request specific seats.  For your convenience, the ticket system offers the best available seats (up to four options per section) for you to choose from. You can choose the option that best suits you by clicking on it. However, should you want specific seats, it is possible to contact the Box Office, after the presale, or contact us.

What is the maximum number of tickets allowed per purchase?

The maximum number of tickets is twenty (20) per person, for an online transaction. Should you wish to buy more than fourteen tickets, please contact the groups department at, call + 52 984 206 4000 ext. 5063 or contact us.

What is a credit card’s verification code (also known as "verification number")?

A Mastercard or VISA credit card verification code is a three-digit number located on the back of the card, at the end of the signature space. American Express cards’ verification codes are four-digit numbers found on the front of the card, just above and to the right of the credit card number.

Are tickets available for persons with limited mobility?

At what age must tickets be purchased for children?

Children under the age of three years old are not admitted to Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ. Please note that many of our shows involve loud noises and periods of darkness which can frighten some children.

Are there senior discounts?

Senior discounts are available for non-peak performances only. Senior card must be presented while purchasing or while picking up the tickets at the box office.

I’ve lost my order number and/or tickets!

If you’ve lost your tickets or confirmation, please contact the customer service team at, call 1 844 247 7837 or contact us. It’s important to include as much information about the purchase as possible, such as the name of the person the reservation was made under, the last four digits of the credit card used, the number of seats bought, the time and date of the show, and/or your confirmation number.

Can I exchange or cancel my ticket?

All ticket sales are final. There are no exchanges or refunds.

What are the service charges for?

The convenience fees are applied on all ticket sales, regardless of the type of event. While some companies have decided to include them in the price of the ticket, we have opted for a more transparent method that informs the clients where their money goes. Those fees basically cover the costs of Box Office operation, software, staff, etc. They allow you the convenience of booking your tickets prior to your show instead of standing in line and making due with whatever tickets are left.

Can I give my tickets to someone to use?

Please contact our customer service team to know what to do in this case at or call 1 844 247 7837. To avoid any issues at the box office, the person(s) to whom you have given your tickets should have a photocopy of both sides of the credit card used to purchase the tickets (the first 12 numbers of the card may be blacked out), a photocopy of one of the purchaser’s pieces of identification (such as a driver’s license), a letter acknowledging the gift signed by the purchaser that our call center will send you, and the confirmation number. 


What do I do if I think I lost something at a Cirque du Soleil show?

Can I access the on site boutique if I don’t have tickets to the show?

It is possible to access the gift shop on any show day, even if you don't have a ticket. It opens at 5:00 PM.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes, Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ provides normal toilet services.

May I take pictures during the show?

For licensing and security reasons, all video cameras (with or without flash) are strictly prohibited. You may take photos without flash.

Our theatre is located in the middle of the jungle, 20 minutes away from Cancun’s International Airport, 20 minutes away from Playa del Carmen and 40 minutes away from Cancun.
